Vostok Komandirskie Sunrise / Rising Sun

The Sunrise or Rising Sun is arguably one of the more elaborate and popular dials from the Komandirskie range. This dial has a prominent red star and no numerals. This design was also part of the 5-watch set made for the Italian market (you can check this thread for more details).

The bezel is coated with titanium nitride, which gives it a golden look. Catalogs show that the bezel can either feature red and black dots (one of the red dots being bigger than the others – just noticed this is not the case on my sample, oh well) or numbers 10 to 50. The second hand can be either gold or red color. The dial can feature “made in USSR”, “zakaz MO USSR” or no marking at all for the latest issues (for these latest issues, we can see “made in Russia” on the caseback).

There are still quite a few of these Rising Suns in good condition out there. Make sure the bezel is correct as its titanium nitride coating gives the watch a different look.

Would you like me to source a Komandirskie Rising Sun for you? Please get in touch.
